I'm sorry but I need to get this off my chest. I am sick of the way people look at me because I have children. I am 26 and I have 3 children, 5, 3 and 22 months. I can't walk down the road without someone looking at me with a frown. Granted, I do look young for my age (apparently), but why am I a target?
My partner works hard to support us, we pay our taxes, but still we are made to feel as though we are not good enough, or old enough to bring children up.
I am a good mother and my partner is an excellent father, why is age such an issue?

I take my passport everywhere too. Honestly people think it is all scruffy because of travelling... eh, no, it is because I generally produce it everytime I go out!

had ds when i was 24, one month off being 25, hardly so awfully young! and i too had medical staff keep talking to me about 'options' i.e an abortion until past the 3mth mark. now when i'm out i continually see/meet teenage mums or mums in their 30's and hardly any inbetween! non of my friends are thinking of having children until their 30's...but then you never know do you?!

well i wish i had your problem

but i know what you mean. i had my ds on my 20th birthday and got so tired of HV's talking to me like i was braidead.

in the end i lost my temper and asked how many children she had, NONE was the answer. well i explained that i am the eldest of 10 childrenwith teh youngest being a year younger than my son, that i have more experaince of careing for babies in my left thgumbnail than she has in her entire library of books and lets face it what can a book tell you about teh realities of childcare.

ever since then i have been treated with a little more respect from the health people. lol
