Recommendations for puzzles/games for 3.5 DS

DS 3.5 is obsessed with jigsaws. He does the same ones over and over. So really its stuff for solo play Im looking for...

Does anyone have any recommendations for some new games or puzzles for him? I don't know what the "in" thing for older toddler boys is..... I dont know what to get!

Problem I have is that some jigsaws are age 5+ with tiny pieces, and too hard. But the ones with larger pieces her does really quickly.

In an ideal world it would be something that could occupy him for more then 5 mins. I do realise that this might be asking too much...

Thanks!

Drawing objects (toy car, toy train etc.)
Making things with play dough
Building castles with wooden blocks
Duplo

And things together: Snakes and Ladders, Thomas the Tank Engine games (windy rescue game etc.), 4 in a row, dominoes, snap.

My dd2 is almost 3 an sounds the same - she loves the orchard games - shopping list, dotty dinosaurs, the chef one - all brilliant games. Don't buy any of the cjeap plastic games from ELC - they don't last 5 mins.
She also loves lego.
We've brought her a domino rally for her birthday as she loves putiing things in an ordered line :)

Ahh he is not so fussed for play dough or drawing. Got a ton of lego, and he does play with it a lots But its the puzzles he goes for everytime.

Think maybe more orchard games are in order...
Thanks

how about some bigger floor puzzle ones, often they have more pieces but the pieces are bigger? Also will second the Orchard Toys games, some of the ELC games are good - like manic martians, busy bees, etc

My ds (3.3) also loves jigsaws so I often pop into our local charity shop as they are so cheap, 50p usually, and if it is a bit simple once he's done it a few times I just give it back to them.

Someone got him a 72 piece Ben 10 for xmas and he did it for the first time last week all on his own. It took him 1 whole hour of total concentration but he was so proud of himself. Maybe if some of the jigsaws are a bit tough right now you could start them off with your ds and then let him finish it.

Orchard toys jigsaws are lovely and come in sizes from 20 pieces upwards. DD2 is 2 and can do 35 piece ones and DD2 who is 4 tends to do 50 piece ones (although still happy to do the smaller ones too)

Favourites at the moment are a box of 10 Disney Princess jigsaws in varying sizes

They also play really well with WOW toys which are beautifully made and 'mechanical' rather than battery powered

John Lewis used to do lovely nursery rhyme jigsaws with story cds to go with them - we had a Goldilocks one. They made the jigsaw and then there were separate pieces which they slotted in at the appropriate points in the story - eg the porrige pots, the chairs, etc. this one

Just noticed it is an Orchard Toy one too!
