baby with sweaty head

For the last few evenings I have noticed that 9mo ds's head sweats a but during his bedtime bf, put it down to the plastic backed pillow case. Tonight though we were having a nice cuddle with him lying on my chest, me sitting up & I noticed quite big beads of sweat on the parts of his head not touching me. He doesn't have a temp - his back actually felt quite cool, well in himself. Is this normal? Is he just a sweaty person or is there something to worry about? Thanks

Liz my DD, 10 months, has been the same recently. Some feeds, but not all, I notice that her head is very sweaty, to such an extent that her hair is wet. I use a cotton cover on my bf pillow so I know that it can't be that. My DD is never usually very sweaty.

I'm sure that I read somewhere that this can be to do with teething but I have searched and can't find where I read this.

Hopefully someone will come along and tell us its all normal Smile

My son's head sweated constantly when he was a baby. It has eased off as he has grown older (he is 9 now) but his head and his feet are the two places he has always sweated. I have to change his pillow case at least twice a week still because he leaves a white rim of salt from the sweat. He is a very happy, healthy young man (nearly) now.

My DD sweated a lot from her head - I would have to change round the muslin she was lying on through the night. It didn't cause any problems otherwise. And yes, she got especially sweaty during a BF...

Thanks. His head was dry when we went to bed, it seems to be the bf at that time. I have to feed him in our bed where it is quiet so he doesn't get distracted, he does get sweaty during his other feeds, just the bedtime one. It's very odd! My daughter never did this.

My DD's head used to sweat all the time when she fed from the bottle and also during her naps. I used to worry but apparently she was fine and then around 12 or 18 months she gradually stopped and now at 2.5yrs I don't notice it much at all.
