Would you come to a nappuccino in a child-friendly pub?

I'm in the process of setting up nappuccinos in my local area in London and am trying to find free places to host them (no budget to pay for rooms!).

I've already been in touch with the children's centres, and will be working with them to set some up, but I was thinking about setting one up in a child-friendly pub as well.

I'd have a roped off section of the pub, away from the bar, with foam floor tiles on the floor, for any babies/toddlers, and tea/coffee/juice and homemade baked goods, for the parents and parents-to-be. There are clean and spacious changing facilities available.

The pub is dead quiet during weekdays, so there won't be any noise from footy on the telly or large groups of drinkers or the like...The problem with cafes in the local area is that they're pretty small (not much space for prams/buggies) and usually stay quite busy throughout the day, which is why a spacious, quiet pub seems better to me...

The main advantage of it would be that it's in the heart of a busy village-y part of London (with loads of parents-to-be and parents of babies) so it may attract more drop-ins who just happen be passing and want to find out more.

But I just want to see if anyone thinks "er, no way would I go into a pub for an event like this!". So what you do think? Would you come to a nappuccino like this?

TIA Smile

I would, absolutely. Sounds lovely.

I think if you advertise it, you should make it clear that the pub will have a roped off section, changing facilities etc and that would dispel any initial 'oh, its in a pub...' thoughts.

A nappuchino? What is that? Is sounds like a coffee with the contents of a nappy on top.

I would but I agree you will need to spell out thats it's roped off etc, praps put a picture on the poster?

Good tip on spelling out how it'll be set up etc - thanks ladies!

Belgo, it's just a name for a real nappy info/demo/sales event (same logic as babycino and all that I guess). I know it sounds a bit naff but phrases like "nappy natters" make my teeth hurt Grin

Hazchem, this particular one will be in Muswell Hill...

It's probably not what you want to hear flip but I would definitely be put off by a nappacino held in a pub. I know you say it's child friendly etc etc but it just seems a bit wrong IYKWIM.
I suppose though if you are doing other venues as well then individuals have a choice don't they?

Thanks for that Smac...pubs are quite popular round our way - some even have babyclubs with classes etc. Probably cos there are quite a lot of parents with babies (and massive prams!) and not that many children's centres or soft plays or the like...I'm still pondering it.
