Poo at two - is it too runny?

Hi,

Some of my friends have toilet trained their two year olds and, as a consequence of a few accidents on the carpet, I have seen their poos. They are quite solid and therefore carpet staining wasn't a problem (see previous sad conversation about new carpet and toilet training).

Anyway, this has now got me concerned about my DS's poos. He is still in nappies and his poos are pretty runny. Not liquid but the sort that sometimes squidge out the sides if you're unlucky.
The idea of toilet training fills me with horror because I can just foresee a trail of shit everywhere!

However, toilet training is a way off. But now I'm just concerned about his health.

Today I looked after a friend's DD who is the same age. We went round to visit all the other mums and I looked after my friend's DD because she's just had a new baby and is resting at home. I've heard tonight that she's now got diarea (not sure how to spell that) which is quite unusual for her. I'm concerned that it's something I've passed on from my DS. It can't be the food she had as this was the usual supplied by her mum and was reheated till it was really, really hot.

However my DS was in the high chair before her and I'm worried that he/I might have passed something on. Perhaps it's something in my food which I reheated for him??

Getting a bit concerned, especially with friend's new baby on the scene. Want to be able to help out but want to rule out any infection. Is my DS already infected but I don't realise because I see it as normal?

Sorry if I sound paranoid!

if he normnally has squidey poo's, then i doubt he has passed anything on. my dd2 generally has soft poo's, and until recently she had never done a solid poo. she is now 3.
