I have just invested in some Little Lambs and was just wondering what you used for soiled nappies when out and about?

A plastic bag. Couldn't be arsed buying a proper wetbag tbh, when a plastic bag does the job just as well. Plastic bag then goes in handbag or under pram ect.

I pop mine in a monkeyfoot wet bag when out and about but deemented is right, a plastic bag does the job doesn't it.

Hevster · 26/01/2011 17:27

I put mine in a wet bag as I don't want to throw plastic bags away unnecessarily and I would never remember which plastic bags were for the dog poo, the nappies or general use.
the wet bag goes in the machine with the nappies.

Ok thanks for the tips, I'm liking the sound of the wetbag idea as you can just throw it straight into the wash but a plastic bag sounds just as handy!

A ziplock plastic bag is ideal - no smell escapes, and as long as you fold the nappy up, they don't get dirty so can be used over and over. Nice and compact for a one nappy outing

Wilkinsons nappy sacks. They are quite strong and durable. And big enough.

Pingpong · 26/01/2011 20:10

I love Monkey foot wetbags too!
I usually have a few spare nappy sacks in my bag just incase but prefer to use the monkey foot bag(s) as they can just go in the wash with the nappies. I have some small drawstring bags too that came with some close parent pop ins but Monkey foot with the zip is better for containing smells.

MrsWeasleyWannaBe · 27/01/2011 19:26

I also love monkeyfoot wetbags - they're brilliant - I have three large ones and one small(which is too small for nappies but great for wipes, dirty spoons etc). Could do with more really, they're so handy. If we've got a lot of stuff with us when we're out I just hang the monkeyfoot bag(s) round the buggy handle. And when we visit the inlaws (involves a flight) they are so handy for compartmentalising hand luggage (eating paraphernalia in one, nappy paraphernalia in another).
That said, and even though we've been using reusables for nearly a year now, I still often forget to take a wet bag with us when we go out, so I have a few carrier bags stuffed into a pocket of the nappy bag just in case. And they do the job, it's just not as handy as being able to just shove everything into the washing machine with the next nappy wash.

Pingpong · 27/01/2011 21:10

you must have big nappies MrsW! I can easily fit a pocket nappy in my small size monkey foot bag Smile

MrsWeasleyWannaBe · 27/01/2011 21:16

Heehee, maybe I could (we use motherease one size, they're prob not that big...) I've never tried to be honest but quite like to be able to just drop 'em in the bag with as little effort/contact as possible!

hogshead · 27/01/2011 21:22

Bum genius gave me their little drawstring bag free when we purchased them for heading out and about although the freebie bags (persil and online baby catalogue) work just as well.

Pingpong · 27/01/2011 21:27

.....not seen a Motherease one size in RL but heard they are big Wink I just roll up a BG v3 and pull the velcro over each other like you would a disposable and pop it in.

Habbibu · 27/01/2011 21:30

A stinki minki - I like the fact that it goes straight into the wash.

peachybums · 30/01/2011 21:34

We have a monkeyfoot wetbag as we use washable wipes too so everything can just be thrown in wash when we get home. Dont like using plastic bags so we dont really have any in the house. We did have a lollipop wetbag but it was pants monkeyfoot much better!
