6 week check

Rang my gp today as my little boy is 7 weeks today and i still havent had my 6 week check. Apparently 'they dont send the letters' which is fair enough and she checked computer and said one hadnt been made/sent from whereever. So she booked me an appointment for 9th fed but my little boy will be 9 weeks then. Does it make a difference? I also havent recieved any letter for his 8 week injections and mentioned this to the receptionist and she asked if hv had said he should come for them - i said "yeh but its in his red book to that he should have them at 8 weeks" so she told me to bring him down to baby clinic when he's8 weeks.

I'm a bit worried now - will he be ok having his injections before his 6 week check? Also does anyone know who i can ring to see why he hasnt recieved any of these letters?

I've posted this in childrens health too.

Doesn't matter just so long as the injections are a certain number of weeks apart and it won't matter if he has them before or after his 6 week check.

My son had his 1 years at about 14 months and his MMR a month or so after that.

They really only use the weeks as a way to assure everyone who wants them has them.

I don't know who you ring though.

At my surgery, there is a 8 week check instead of 6 weeks, then they have the injections straight after, assuming all is ok. I would get him checked before he has the jabs.

I was on the phone to the receptionist and she booked the appointment and i mentioned the jabs after so i would of thought she would of said so before hand

We have a 6 week check for mum, with GP. Mum has to make this appointment herself.

Baby has check at 8 weeks with injections given usually after. HV arranges this appt, GP usually comes along to HV room to see baby.

DD had hers before GP checked her over as she was held up with patients, HV said GP was happy for her to do this (not to me, but to the nurse who was checking).

We don't get a six week check! Baby was examined before her jabs at 8 weeks.
