Pocket Money

I have a DD nearly 10 and a DS age 11. Last summer they constantly wanted money for the shop, picture etc and cost me a fortune. I've decided that now they are getting bigger, the must do chores for pocket money which they will get once a week and they must make it last. They've been great this week, washing pots, feeding the dog, cleaning up etc. The question is, how much do I give them. I thought £5 each, is that about right do you think or stingy?

We have a star system at home and it was working out around £5. It is more then enough for my 7 year old but wasn't for my 11 year old; well some weeks it wasn't as I needed to give her extra money for her to go to the cinema with her friends swimming and other things

Obviously when we go the movies together I pay, or on trips.

I have a 10 year old he gets £2.50 a week. He has to keep his room tidy and do the dusting

I also have a 13 year old he gets £5.00 a week, for this he has to

walk to dog daily,
unload the dishwasher daily
keep his room clean

If the 13 year old wants to got to the cinema, I give him about £10.00, this is about once every couple of months though
