I bought one a few weeks ago for our new dd who is 3 weeks, it has given me great peace of mind so far as i spent the first few months of ds1 and ds2's life worrying and streesing about them and the risk of SIDS, but someone said they are a waste of money as they dont always work as they should, has anyone used one? did you find them helpful? did they have any problems or faults? Id love to hear what you all think of them! xxx

Hi HelenEmjay, I bought the Angelcare after a tip from a friend and never regretted it. It is currently on loan to a friend and I am vary happy for them to lend it to someone else after. I'm not a particularly paranoid person and know the risk of SIDS is small but the thought of having to go through conception, pregnancy and birth again was not good so played it safe.

hi!
just to say that i bought one when my first ds was two weeks old as he had sleep apneoa and i was terrified he wouldnt wake up and didnt sleep, my friend suggested the angelcare and i never looked back. i also used it on my second son, and know it is currently with my god daughter

Hi. I bought the Angelcare just because I'm a worrier and I knew I wouldn't get good sleep for worrying. It helped me to sleep better, if nothing else so I'm glad I got one.
There was only one time that it went off. I just woke up for no reason, looked at my baby then the alarm went off. It was strange as I probably instinctively picked up on something - baby was fine but I think I almost had a heart attack!

Look at the Babysense II. Doesn't have the listening in feature of the Angelcare, just the respiration monitor, but is better IMHO.

hi i used this monitor with ds and found it very reassuring. I never had any false alarms although I know others have said they did. I will be using it again with DB as it just let me settle that bit easier.

Thats how i feel! - it just helps me sleep better! i feel happier leaving her to nap upstairs in the daytime too as i feel i will hear her and the alarm will sound if somethings wrong it makes me feel so much better, if i wake up in the night i can see the little movement light flashing - its reassuring!! im so glad you all like it! i was beggining to think that it would let me down!!!

Hi, I have the angelcare monitor and it's great. Had one false alarm when DS slept at the very edge of his cot and it didn't register him. Other than that we have it on every night, I wouldn't be without it
