hi

feeling bad as my 2 yr old just constantly chats (the same thing) over and over and over including mama literally every 10 seconds to the point where i cannot even go to the loo. He has started not listening and just laughing and i feel quite frustrated and like i look forward to nap and bedtimes just to literally have some peace. he isn't good at playing alone for even a few minutes.

my hubby is away a lot i work 3 or 4 days a week and so we have part time nanny - we moved to a new area 8 months ago and all the mums seem quite unfriendly and still don't know anyone in the area to go for a coffee /playdate with. DS is kept very entertained with playgroups etc all week (this morning we went ot music session), yyesterday i took him to the park, played ball, did painting, pretent play, snail hunting in the garden, stories, drawing and rreading.....so he gets a lot of one on one attention all the time.

any tips? i dont want to wish away time with my child or find him annoying

it's a difficult age as they are just learning to talk... give it 6 months and I bet you will be amazed at the conversations you can have with him.

DD1 went through a phase of just constantly repeating everything she saw eg 'car...dog...car..car', it drove me mad. Especially as she would say the same thing over and over until I'd acknowledged it 'yes DD1, it is another frigging car!' But now she is 2.9 and is constantly making me laugh with her silly stories and imagination, I can actually have a conversation with her.

Don't feel guilty - I used to find the constant noise really draining.

Putthekettleon is right though, in a few months you'll be having conversations that just make you laugh. We're currently on the "what, why..." phase at the moment:

DS: Mummy, what are you doing?
Me: I'm driving us to the moon! [Actually we're driving home]
DS: No mummy, if you were going to the moon you would need a spaceship and an aeroplane not a car
Me: [silent, don't know what to say]

Oh, and friends keep reminding me that in a few years we'll be lucky to get a grunt
