Bag full of nappies - how much?

I am buying a bin bag full of washables from a friend. The contents are:

4 tots bots size 1
4 tots bots size 2
14 liners/boosters
8 onelife nappies with 8 poppered inserts
12 large kooshies
1 small kooshie
3 large cotton bottoms poly wraps
4 large Mother ease rikki wraps
1 new pack of flushable liners

My friend won't say how much she wants - how much should I offer? (I don't want to look tight!)

I am totally clueless about washables - are onelife nappies one size? I'm guessing these need the wraps over them? Do totsbots need a wrap?

Any advice much appreciated!

Hi,

Has she used them? How recently did she buy them?

Tots bots need a wrap, how old/weight is your DC? I would assume the rest need wraps as well, I've not used kooshies so I'm not sure of the price sorry.

As to the one life wrap do they have poppers to adjust the rise of do they look like the Motherease wraps (in that they don't have poppers on the front to adjust the rise)?

As to pricing I would say ball park figure of £30 - £40 dependant on the condition of the nappies. Someone else might be along soon with a bit more experience than moi though.

Thanks hermya yes they are well used, prob around 5 years old.

The onelife nappies do have poppers on the front - think I have worked out how to make them smaller thanks to youtube!

DD only 7 weeks / 9lbs so will need to get some small wraps then. Do I need wraps that are the same make as the nappies or can I use other brands? What do people recommend?

Any other thoughts on how much money I should offer?

Motherease are pretty much the work horse of nappy wraps, in fact if you get yourself over to cloth nappy tree theres quite a few on there for sale at the moment. New the wraps are around about £10, but you can pick them up preloved for about £3 - £5 per wrap.

Otherwise you can use whatever brands you want. Nature babies have some bright colours and patterns if you're that way inclined and flips seem to get a good reception, I don't know how well they'll go over fitteds though. I expect it's been done though.

I am no expert either, but as they are old and well used I wouldn't pay any more than about £3.00 a nappy. you could always have a look on cloth nappy tree for similar and see what people are asking for them. I use a flip wrap over a tots bot at night and it's bombproof as well as being a birth to potty wrap.

and tbh I would only use the kushies as a back up, as they are total rubbish.....

jilly5 · 25/01/2011 14:37

seconded, kushies are pretty bad just dont let them put you off!!

TBH, ( and I'm tight) I'd offer about £20 as second everyone else in that kooshies are rubbish and I dounbt you'll get the use out of them.
