dd has sore throat (I think) and has jabs tomorrow - should i reschedule jabs?

My 12wo dd seems to have a sore throat, I have noticed that she seems a little croaky when she cries out or coos, I will be phoning my GP first thing tomorrow morning to have this confirmed and I will be mentioning that she also has her second set of jabs tomorrow afternoon.

In the case that she requires antibiotics or something, would you ask to reschedule her jabs or carry on with the appointment - I know the jabs are important but in your experience do you think she will be affected in any way by her sore throat? Or am I being silly??

FWIW, she was at the docs on Monday and he said her tonsils were a little inflamed but nothing to worry about Hmm (I have since noticed the croakiness)

I know I should wait to speak with GP tomorrow, but just wanted some advice...

Thanks

I always cancelled jabs when my DD was ill. They are not really time critical (a few weeks makes no diffrerence) and it made me feel better to postpone.

I don't know whether she will be affected by having jabs when she's already fighting a lurgy, but I doubt anyone does and postponing will have no adverse effect. I suspect that the medical people prefer injecting well children too - our nurse always asks whether the baby is well before she does the jab!

IIRC they prefer to delay them if they have a fever but its ok with just a bit of a cold.

If she is well, I would go ahead but if very grizzly/needing calpol I would put them off for a week or two, no major rush for themSmile

thanks for your comments - I thought I was being terrible even thinking of postponing jabs lol, but it does make sense!

I'll speak to GP in the morning about her throat and perhaps postpone the jabs until I'm satisfied that she's ok.

She has been a little grizzly lately - congested and a little croaky..poor wee soul.

DS ends up with most of his jabs postponed because of illness. He is 14 months and not had his 12 month jabs yet. Went to have them today and when speaking to the nurse we agreed to do the flu jab instead as that was more important so he has another 3 weeks before his 12 month jabs!
