She is usually so good and placid but since 9am she has done nothing but cry and I'm losing it now.

What could be wrong with her? Obviously I've done all the normal- fed, changed, winded, slept, out for walk, cuddled, dummy, toys, left her alone BUT NOTHING IS WORKING!!

Could it be her teeth? It's hard when you don't know what is up with them, I hope she calms down soon for you

DD was really hard work at the 4 month stage and I am sure I posted something very similar to you on here when she had been crying all morning for no apparent reason!

I guess it could be teeTHIng? Is her temp normal? Try a little spoon of calpol?

But it could just be a grumpy baby day! Poor you though.

if shes normally good and suddenly today is crying loads shes probably ill. Does she have an
y symptoms you might want to check with the doctor?

I would check with the dr or HV if you are worried. When DS is like this it's usually teeth; I give calpol, teething gel and cuddles while he chews my hand off, The tommee tippee teethers that look like dummies are good for when they are too little to reliably hold a teether to chew on.

DancingOnMyBladder · 10/01/2011 19:25

I'm not sure why but teeth never really occured to me. Both DS's were 8 months + before they teethed. She does have rosy cheeks but our house is really warm.

I'm such a dappy mare. It's probably teeth isn't it? Have given her a tiny bit of calpol and put her to bed. Seems to have settled for now but we shall see what the night holds.

My DD was like this at 4 months for about a week - I remember it well and I definitely joined her in crying! I also thought it was teeth but it wasn't (she didn't get her first teeth until 8 months). In the end, a friend told me that they go through a developmental spurt at 4 months which can make them pretty miserable - you can read about it on the 'wonder weeks' website.

Ditto the maybe teething. DS was teary and pink cheeked and never thought it could be teething but a few weeks later out the first two popped. Spot of calpol worked well for us. If in doubt though call the hv / docs.
