Still wearing a nappy for bed at 4?

Dd is 4 in 2 weeks time and still wears a bedtime nappy which is quite wet in the mornings. She has been dry in the day for 18 months.

I always thought that I should wait until her nappy was dry in the mornings for a while and then go without but that doesn't seem to be happening.

Any advise or should I not be concerned with this yet?

NOrmal! Very often children are in night nappies til older - no need to worry until they're at least 7.

Nothing to worry about and nothing you can do.
DS was 7 1/2 before he waw dry. DD was 6. DS2 is 5 1/2 is still in night nappies and will be until he has the hormone level high enough to be able to go all night.

Absolutely normal.

My DS is now 5 (6 in a few weeks) was dry only at just turned 5.

He was dry at 2 but couldnt quite get the hang of bedtime.

Spent a fortune on Huggies PJ Pants - which were always out of stock in the supermarkets of the boys - so what does that tell you Smile

Tried him a few times but always wet and got stressed so on advice from mumsnetters put him back in the pj pants and left him until he was ready or his brain could connect the two.

I had run out of them one day so at 5 took the plunge and had a week of dry mornings, then the odd accident, then a few more dry ones - it took about a good month to get it right and weve not looked back.

The odd nights when he is very, very tired or if ill we have he odd accident but that's to be expected.

Dont rush your DD, it will happen when she is ready.

BTW Huggies do a 4-7 range and an older range as well - again what does that tell you

Hope this helps

It might be worth you trying her without a nappy for a night to see what happens. Like you, I waited for dd to have a dry nappy in the morning but it never happened. I just periodically tried her without to see what happened, having read on here that a wet nappy in the morning wasn't necessarily a sign that she wasn't ready. It was just before her 5th birthday when she was eventually dry at night, and she'd been dry in the day for 3 years!
