Bed wetting

Ds is 7 and although been out of nappies at night since age 4 still wets the bed. Last year I thought it was sorted as he did not do it for a while but he seems to have regressed and it is now 4 times a week. Mostly it just his shorts or Trousers which are wet so do not need to change bedding but sometimes the sheets etc need to be changed. I have read that you should go to the docter if they are bedwetting over 7 but with GP's so rushed off their feet at the moment I don't want to be a time waster so my question is Should I go to GP? If not what do you suggest? Is this normal? Would really welcome your responses. Thank you

Dd was a bedwetter. We went to the gp to be referred to the enuresis clinic.
When the letter arrived, there were questionnaires, forms and things to try in the month before our appointment.
One of the main things was a strict drinks timetable. (up to then we encouraged dd to drink less in the evenings, but it never crossed our minds to make her drink loads more during the day). She had a large drink (200mls if memory serves) with breakfast, one at 10.30, lunchtime, 2.30, hometime and teatime, if there was still time, another an hour and a half before bedtime.
Avoid caffeinated drinks and red drinks (as these can irritate the bladder).
Over three weeks following this, dd was gradually dry.

If thus makes no difference to your ds, don't worry about going to your gp - the world and its problems don't stop because they are busy!

Thank you Faverolles, I think I was trying to kid myself that the GP was not needed but I think the problem does need addressing.
