Hi, hope everyone is well. My little boy usually has his nap at 1.30pm and sleeps for about an hour and a half....what shall I do on Christmas Day?

We normally have lunch at 12.30 am which is way to early on Christmas day. We want to have lunch at about 2pm, but we want our son to join in. What does everyone else do? In the past we've just obsereved his nap and did his lunch early as usual. This year we want him to eat with us. What does everyone else do? Thank you in advance for any advice! :)

hmmm - i'd make the most of him being asleep and enjoy having a leisurely xmas lunch with your dh :o

I think he is now of an age where he will 'get' xmas. Go with the flow. It i only one day. Provide a snack at lunch time and distract with toys till the proper meal. He will then flake out after eating.

If ot all gets too much, take him away to a quiet spot for cuddles and wind down then pop him down to nap. He can eat the left overs!

how about you eat at 1.30pm and he naps at 2.30pm?

i'm assuming he won't go to sleep earlier than usual?? if he would that would be better and you can get stuff ready while he's sleeping/

Just enjoy the day-it won't ruin his routine if he has one day that's slightly out. If he's tired he'll fall asleep at some point, but you might find with the excitement of the day he keeps going much longer than usual. My ds is also 2.5yrs but when we are on holiday,at parties etc.it's amazing how long he keeps going for! Always slips back into his routine once we're home though.

Hello everybody, thanks for all your suggestions. I think we'll play it by ear and if he seems really tired then we will follow his normal lunch time, but if he appears to be coping he can eat with us. Thanks again and MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all x x x :)
