Always loved the name Daisy so when found out that DD2 was going to be a girl THAT was the name she was to be ..end of !! Grin
Now she is here and we all love her loads definately got character by the bucketful and a big bouncy sturdy shouty marauding crawler too I am thinking she is soooooo NOT a Daisy Hmm.. but with her middle name a dainty girly girly one too ..what do I do?? ..anyone else ever felt like this when the kids develop their little personalities ..what did you do ?

Ds2 is 13 weeks old.

I hate both his names, first and middle.

After much resistance dp has agree'd to let me change his middle name. I'm still stalling though because it's his first name I have the most problem with. I hate calling him by his name so he is just "baby" and he can't be that forever.

When I do try to say his name it feels like I am talking about somebody else, not my own son. It's really getting me down.

You can change it if you want, and up until 12months old you can have the new name added to the birth certificate.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I was at school with a Daisy (nice name!) who was a fairly galumphing sort, but a lovely girl nonetheless.

I know a few Daisys and none of them are dainty sorts

They are all lovely though and it is a lovely name Smile

Daisy's aren't precious, delicate little flowers - they're sturdy, robust, strong little flowers. I think a shouty, bouncy crawler would suit being a Daisy (I LOVE the name Daisy - DS3 would have been a Daisy).

And I also think at 9 months you're pushing it thinking about a change - she'll be very confused.

Hassledge · 17/12/2010 21:09

Rogue apostrophe shock Blush

thisisyesterday · 17/12/2010 21:09

oh i don't think you should change it just because of how she is at 9 months

ds2 was a monster baby, huge lumbering thing. at 3 he is skinny as a rake and a very delicate little thing! lol

honestly, she'll change so much as she grows

apixie however, if you really hate it i would change it! he's young enough that he won't even remember

wildbillhickok · 17/12/2010 21:10

I think Daisy is a strong name too, not dainty and delicate. In fact all the Daisys I know are robust Pansy Potters.

goingwiththeflow · 17/12/2010 21:17

thanks everyone Grin it is true I may have left it too late as the only other name she answers to is 'Dave' and thats the cats nameHmm

The only other Daisys I know are delicate graceful things ( hint there at her second name Blush)but as the wider world knows some sturdy ones then maybe its not so typecast ..and Rhinestone love the word galumphing .that describes her to a T !! Grin

and apixie you can change yours definately ! if you want to of course ..

Babies can be sturdy and loud, but then change again when they are older. My first was a very big brash loud baby, she's now a confident but reasonably self-contained seven year old. I would get rid of the name on that basis, she'll make it her own.

CharlieBoo · 17/12/2010 22:11

Omg my 19 month old dd is Daisy.... Can I tell you she is very boisterous, tough (has big brother so needs to be), a climber, just a real tomboy...but I think because of that it suits her down to the ground, I look at her hauling a 4 year old off some ride on in ikea play area and chuckle lol!!

Please don't change it, it's such a beautiful name.

PurpleCrazyHorse · 18/12/2010 16:17

You can change her registered name up to 12 months after the birth was registered - see here

SkyBluePearl · 19/12/2010 20:36

if you don't like it change it - you can do it on her birth certificate up to a year if you go through the registry office.
