What temp is your DC's room at night and what do they wear?

DS18mo wears a long sleeve vest, pyjamas and a 2.5 tog grobag. He won't keep a blanket on. His room is usually around 19-21C at night.

DH likes to keep the central heating on all night because he worries that DS gets cold. Pre-kids we never had the heating on overnight and were never ill. Nowadays DH has always got a cold and I'm just getting over a sickness bug.

I don't believe it's healthy to have the central heating on all night but I don't want DS, who is not a good sleeper, to wake up cold.

What temp is your DC's bedroom? And what do they wear in bed?

P.S. arudolf have you tried sleepsuits with feet in? As I said above, we use a fleecy one on DS to keep him cosy.

piprabbit - yes, he spends a long time pulling on the feet and screaming, then stands up and walks 'out' of the legs into the torso of the sleepsuit, before tripping and smacking his head. Every. Single. Time. So we don't use footed sleepsuits anymore!! It's odd, because he is fine with socks and shoes during the day.

sorry - had to have a tiny snigger at the mental image of your DS retreating, tortoise-like up inside his suit. Reminded me of the Frank Skinner character in Flint Street Nativity disappearing into his king's robe as he climbed the steps.

yes! it's exactly like that! very funny to watch, but it makes him scream himself purple, so we don't do it too often Xmas Grin

piprabbit can you recommend a good fleecy sleepsuit for an 18mo? The only one I've found is a Thomas the Tank Engine one in Boots, the local store didn't have his size and they don't seem to be selling clothes online atm.

I hate having the heating on overnight too. My 17 month old wears vest, sleepsuit, socks, wooly cardigan and 2.5 tog grobag when its cold say 15 to 16 degrees. If I think its a really cold night, then tights instead of socks. God, I do obsess about this too. Asda are selling the fleecy sleepsuits with feet at the mo.

mousymouse · 10/12/2010 13:05

about 16degrees here, there is heating but it only is on during the day. the dc1 (4) has vest, socks, nikki pjs and a 12 tog duvet and stays under it.
dc2 (1) has a long sleved vest, babygrow, 2tog grobag + blanket.

Well the last batch I bought were off ebay (there's lots of choice in the 18-24 month size), and out of those ones the Next one is favourite. Ours is like this but stripy.

Also, I think Vertbaudet have some velour ones reduced at the moment.

Thanks piprabbit and curlymamma. I'll check both out.

We sleep with the air con on to cool the bedrooms down to 25 degrees C.
(live in hot climate ;-) )

Quenelle - Mothercare do this slightly padded sleepsuit (2.5 tog). Maybe of use to you?

I've got the 12-18mo one which I use with DS + a 2.5 tog grobag.
