Sorry for crap message, typing left handed on touch screen phone.

4 m old dd has just had 45mins of hysteria, which isn't like her, sobbing, screaming, thrashing etc. Have just managed to calm her and she is asleep in my arms but still seems to be panting almost. Big pauses then a couple of little jerky breaths...is this just the afternath if hysteria? Stupid qu I know, but she's never really cried before, certainly never inconsolably. Should I be doing anything or is this normal?

My dc used to do hiccupy type sobs and then a few fast breaths after a major cry.

My daughter (3) after hysterical fit does jerky little breaths and usually falls asleep. She does this maybe once a week when she is overtired. Dos this sound like what you have? Is she normal colour and temperture?

God all three of mine do this Grin just cuddle LO and talk quietly and soothingly, they'll soon calm down :)

Oh and teething, ill or other upset??

Oh good, thank you. I think she is overtired, she hates napping in the day if not on dh or me. But thought I'd try her in her basket, all seemed calm, got in shower,as I got out I could hear her sizzling. Got upstairs, still quiet happy, then all hell broke loose! We follow a loose AP approach, so we don't really do crying, let alone hysteria, really threw me! Ended up stripping her and putting her inside my dressing gown. Still sleeping now thereby trapping me nekkid on the bed with a v crooked fringe! Will sit here for as long as she naps, thank god my phone was up here.

She has a nasty cough too,so might have a sore throat poor little thing.

If she has a sore throat no wonder she is grouchy. Enjoy the rest!
