Shall I change my 5 yr old girls bedroom around, which will make it ALOT easier to keep tidy AND play in and her desk and drawing stuff (which she loves) will then fit in nicely, when she isn't here????????

She's at Nana's tonight and I feel like doing something productive

QueenOfQuotes · 25/09/2005 20:08

Yes - she'll probably be really excited as it looks all 'new'

Blossomhill · 25/09/2005 20:08

Yeah, why not. Go for it!

PrettyCandles · 25/09/2005 20:09

Go ahead, if you think she'll like it. I know my 5yo ds would rather be forewarned about a major change. All kids are different!

If it's not going to keep you up all night go for it my dd use to love the surprise of a "new" bedroom.

franke · 25/09/2005 20:11

Yes, definitely. But if she's anything like my dd, make sure you explain it all to her and 'sell' her the positives of the change when she gets back.

trinityrocks · 25/09/2005 20:11

thanks for the really quick responses, I am going to, she loves surprises and has wanted her desk in her room for a long time. Also I think she will appreciate something being done just for her what with the new baby (well not that new now but you know what I mean)

Thanks

Have fun - and make sure you switch the computer off - or you'll be on here all night instead of sorting the bedroom

trinityrocks · 25/09/2005 20:12

switching off now lol good point QofQ

A voice of dissent here ... my dd isn't quite 4.5 and she would never forgive me if I changed her room around without her being there to boss me around (I mean help me do it). It's her space, and I think it would be important to her that any changes to it were at least discussed with her beforehand, if not done together with her.

hunkermunker · 25/09/2005 20:28

I would have hated this. Sorry.

No. Check with her first.

I always move my kids room around. I'm trying to think of how else I can do DD's room at the moment but haven't done anything about it yet.

If she doesn't like it, she can always help you move it back again!

hi guys, next morning and due to a HUGE spider with hob-nailed boots and an attitude and the fact that I nearly ripped my toe off I didn't do it last night.BUT I am going to do it this morning(she's at school till 3)
Have read the new messages and still think she will love it. If she doesn't like it she will say and I will reassure her that we can change it back.
