What is the etiquette for telling off others kids?
I ask as this evening my daughter (5) was playing in a neighbours garage with others. I thoughtthegarage had all nastys out of reach as mainly storage for outdoor toys. One boy knocked on door to say they were taking liquids out of bottles
My husband rushed over and stoped it, while talking forcebly to them to get accross seriousness and to try and find out whathad happened the neighbour heard him.
A while later I got a text asking meto tell husband not to talk to son like that and that her son is completely honest and had said it wasn't him it was another kid and that she believes him cause he never lies.....we know different.
So how do you handle it when other kids are naughty?
We have now decided to extract our kids in future and let them get on with whatever they are doing

Text back, say he was speaking to his own children. If you!re brave enough you could also request that your child is not exposed unsupervised to hazardous substances on their premises.

you tell all the chidlren the danger of taking liquids out of bottles and you let all the chidlren know what can happen. It is important that all the chidlren say knwo the risk of playing with matches etc and not pick one child out

Agree with MDs. I would ignore the text. I reinforce with your own dd that it is dangerous to play in garages, open things etc. at a quiet time.

I'd just like to add that if any of my DCs had been in that garage, I'd have been really grateful for his actions.

If the neighbour heard him - why didn't she go and see what was happening?

I hope you told the boy who knocked your door how proud of him you are!

Just ignore her - if you can!
