Having to use disposables for a short trip away - haven't a clue, advice please!

We're going away with 8 mo dd just before Christmas for 3 nights/4 days, and sadly it just won't be possible to use our lovely cloth nappies due to lack of washing facilities (plus I'd be devastated if the cheapo airline lost all our lovely fluff!). Anyway, haven't used disposables since dd was newborn, and really don't know what to buy. She's about 16lb now, so size 3 I think, but quite slim around the middle (her BG3 tabs meet in the middle). I was looking at Pampers, but there seems to be a few to choose from. I gather there's something awful about the Active fits ones - what is it? Am also a bit scared about rashes developing when she's not used to sposies. She's not really ever had nappy rash, so don't think her skin's particularly sensitive. I'd need them to last a good 12 hrs overnight.

Any recommendations please? Pref something I can get in Boots or Sainsbury's. TIA.

i would go for the nature baby ones that you can get in boots, they used to go 12 hrs on my dd at that age and have less of the crap in them than pampers, added to which they are better for the environment!

I second the Nature baby care nappy suggestion by Hevster!
I used them for DD1 for the first 6 months before I became a cloth nappy convert and then I still used them at night/emergencies/holidays.
DD2 seems more sensitive though and I'm not sure whether to try them again when we go on a minibreak in December or take my cloth.
Size 3 or 4 would be fine. 4 would be more absorbant if you are worried about the nights.
Mothercare, Boots, Tesco and Saisnbury's stock them but not all branches have them. Our local Tesco is a huge Extra one and now only stocks size 4, they used to have the full range but obviously they can't justify the shelf space. I've been in some Boots across the country where they stock the full range and others where they have none.
Also if you buy a pack of size 4 they will last for ages (in terms of size) so if you don't use the full pack on holiday you will have some for your next holiday Smile

Many thanks for your replies, my local Boots stocks them, even though it's only a small branch, so will pop in there. Good point about the sizes Smac, I got stuck with a load of disposables dd grew out of when we were going over to cloth. Gave them to a friend in the end.
