Bloody adverts

3 year old DS sits there repeating "I would like one of those" with each advert. So I said I know he'd like everything but nobody can have everything. Now he says "I won't like the other things, I just like one of those" with every ad!

The obvious solution is to switch the TV off, I realise, but I'm BFing a wee baby and it's a bit of a saviour when I'm all Duploed out. And CBeebies is dire, we like Peppa!

How does everyone else deal with this (or am I the only one relying on the square babysitter?!)?

Agree to everything he wants. Our DD, luckily doesn't watch telly with adverts on so can't do this. But, I did notice that when we were in the UK on holiday she wanted everything she saw on the gogglebox. I said of course you can have game/toy/film/carwax and she got none of it. TBH, I know she has the attention span of a goldfish, but your DS will be so wrapped up in xmas itself he wont' be fussed. I hope.

Mine does this too, and also have a newborn so far too much tv being watched!

We talk to him about money, about daddy (and mummy, though not atm) having to go to work so we get money, and that's how we afford to buy things etc but we don't have enough money to buy everything he wants etc.

Also we have "written a letter" to santa and he was allowed to choose a couple of things he'd seen in adverts to ask for, for xmas, so now when he says he wants x we say "but you asked santa for y, you'll have to wait for your b-day to have x" etc.
