DS is 11 months old and just discovered am pg again Grin - DS will be approx 18 months when bean arrives (fingers crossed). I am keen to continue with washables as we have been doing but don't want to have the house looking like a laundrette all the time - how have others coped in the same situation? I use bg v3 at the moment - how many extra would I need to get to manage, am thinking another 10 on top of the 20 we've got? I can't see me getting DS potty trained at 18 months as I'll be back at full time work for 6 months from January.

I had 24.tots bots for ds1, and got another 12 when dd was born 18 months later. It was a few too many really, but they did all last until both were toilet trained. It was a bit manic for.the first couple of months, but settled down after that. I did a wash every night (dry-pailed) and had a tumble dryer.

I had 19 months between my two. With DC1 I already had 6 bimbles and 12 bumbles and a couple of tots bots. For DC2 I bought 10 more bimbles second hand so DC2 wore them for a few months. Then I had to buy about 5 more nappies taking my total up to about 25.

Cloth with two is harder work, I ended up getting a tumble dryer and needed two nappy buckets. Other issue has been bumbles wear and tear. They are a birth to potty so literally been worn pretty much every day for nearly 3 years now and are threadbare.

Good luck! Your eldest will hopefully potty train early so you won't have to do the washing for long!

We have a 16 month gap and do washables, BG V3 like you 4thTime. We've found it fine, it is extra work but manageable.

Though I have to say that drying in the bad weather is a problem, we don't have enough room in the house to put them out anywhere so we conceded and bought a tumble dryer. We didn't need it with one but now with two I just can't see any other way, not in this house.

We have 30 nappies and I wash every second and occasionally 3rd day. I had 25 for a while which was ok, but if I missed a wash for any reason (day trip out or something) then I would run out. With 30 there is a little more room for manoeuvre if you know what I mean.

I split the nappies by colour into two piles, one is on the big setting for DD1 and the others are on the small setting for DD2 which saves me messing about with changing the poppers each time and speeds up reassembling them.

Good luck and congrats!

23 month gap from DC1-2. I used terries which fit on either child. I found it more faff to have enough nappies + spare clothes when out and about then anything else. I think I would carry just one cloth each and one disp each if it were today.
