For me, it would depend on their age.
I made a decision to potty train both of mine from 2 1/2 as it fitted in with some time off work. I was committed to doing it and it worked. It was the right time for them but I understand that doesn't suit everyone.

dd was a bit like that. She trained, wanted to wear knickers and was fine a lot of the time but still had accidents for a few weeks. It was worse when we were at home, rarely had an accident out. For us going out for the day (trip to EuroDisney) and having to anticipate and use the toilet proved a watershed even though she was in pull ups just in case for that trip.

However it only took a house move to really upset things again a few months later so bearing in mind the stress you may have ahead you might feel it better to leave it for now.

its not my dd, its someone elses kid. poor thing cries with each accident as well. do i tell the mother that it may be best to leave it for a while or let her carry on.

oh sorry for the assumption . Think it depends if there is a pattern to the accidents she could break or anticipate. If not then leave it as she'll pass on her stress about it and make matters worse.
