Struggling with 4 month old - Help!

Dd is my third - I should know what I'm doing. I'm really struggling and feeling like I'm doing it all wrong.

She's in a good evening routine - goes down like a dream at 7 and feeds again at 10. She's then up at least twice at night. I can cope with that - just.

The daytimes are the worst. She doesn't settle herself to sleep and needs rocking/cuddling to sleep. She rarely plays by herself for long and I feel as though I am always carrying her while trying to look after the other DCs and do all the other stuff that needs to get done. She won't nod off in the pushchair without sucking on my finger and rarely nods off in the car. I dread going out but also dread being at home. When she sleeps in the day it's usually only for 30 minutes at a time.

Any tips for daytime sleep routines? I think if I get this sorted she'll be happier and play by herself a bit more. Or maybe she'll settle more once she's a bit older?

No tips, I'm afraid, DD was quite similar - she is 13m now and time has helped but otherwise I have just had her on my lap a great deal! What does she make of a dummy if she likes sucking your finger?

Not settling herself at that age is toally normal - my 10 m.o. needs to be rocked to sleep for naps.

30 minute naps are totally normal at that age - and really frustrating. I'd try to soothe her off to sleep after about 1.5 hours of being awake, which will help prevent her being overtired.

But there is a big sleep regression around 4 months which affects naps as well as night time. here, here, here and here.
