ok, if you're using a flat terry on a bigger/older baby (boy, in my case) how would you fold it?? have been using origami (?) fold - the one that creates a pad down the middle - & have really liked it, but ds is getting a bit big for it i think - alternative suggestions anyone??

Kite fold and a nappy booster! Personally I found that when they got bigger I had to use shaped ones. Couldn't cope with the wriggling and keeping the nappy folded.

ahhh, kite! ta becky.
yeah ds wriggles like mad, but we mostly use prefolds, so i'm good at distracting etc during nappy changes

I used the kite method on terries and found getting to big for them, so add a tots booster and found that it gave more room. However, have recently gone onto using shaped nappies as too wriggly, occasionally use a terry if I run out.

If you are using 60cm terries and your boy isn't too big (say less than 25lb) then the jo fold is excellent. I'm still using this on my son aged 20 mths on his slimmer days.

There's instructions on nappy lady and it's one of the less complicated. You could also try pad folded (like prefolds) with a velcro wrap if his bowels aren't too explosive

I use the jo fold too, great for boys as there's a lot of padding up front, my wee one is also 20 months.

If he's not prone to runny poo or you have plenty of wraps, you could always just padfold it into a rectangle.

Padfold here, too. Fold nappy into quarters, then fold quartered nappy into half again, and secure in position with a good wrap (Nature babies poppered in my case). After a big poo the wrap will need a wash too, but as long as you have 6/7 or so, you should be fine.
