Does anyone have any good ideas what to buy my wife after our baby is born ? (now only about a week away..)Just to say she is not big on jewellery, but was thinking along the lines of a day at a spa ? other ideas have been a new digital camera (to take lots of pictures of our new arrival)

Thanks

A selection of pregnancy banned foods for after the birth (pate; soft Cheeses, crackers, wine or Prosecco, etc)
Arrange fresh bedsheets on the bed and do her a little basket on the bedside table (hand cream; tissues, bottled water, the remote for the TV, face wipes, phone charger)
Big bouquet of flowers

In my family, it's diamonds for the first then good watch for the second

So I guess a watch!

Not sure post that!

How about vouchers for her favourite clothes shop? A family friend gave me some when I had my first child. Totally perfect as my pre-pregnancy clothes didn't fit and maternity ones didn't fit for long. I also needed some tops I could breastfeed in. All easy to order online which was key and meant I felt a bit more like myself again in my nice new things :-)

Full marks for thinking about this by the way!

I had a hamper with wine, pâté and lovely runny cheese - i.e. all the things I couldn't have while pregnant - after having my DC. Was truly wonderful and really felt like a gift for ME amongst the sea of baby clothes...

Vouchers for a local beauty place that LAST A YEAR - THIS IS IMPORTANT!!! then while feeding / feeling human takes priority they are waiting to be used (hint dh hint hint!! Grin)

Vouchers for clothes shop / shopping centre

personally a big ridiculous hotel chocolat box of chocs and luffley jim jams would suffice

Does she have a hairdreser she's commited to that you could get voucher for?

THIS THREAD IS A ZOMBIE THREAD, THE CHILD IS NEARLY 6.

Sorry for shouting.

Responding to the fella who bumped it - don't name a star. What a pointless waste of money. There are loads of good ideas on the thread already.

I can't understand all the camera suggestions.

Don't we all take photos on our phones? The quality is fantastic.

Unless she is in to photography, I would forget that idea.

Go for practical help or jewellery (she might not be on to it, but a keepsake is different)

But it is not a zombie thread!

If you actually read it, you will see a dad recently comes on board to ask for help

Report
BroomhildaVonShaft · 24/08/2016 12:52

The original thread was from 6 years ago before everyone had smartphones with good cameras

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 24/08/2016 13:02

And the person who posted in the last couple of days reanimated the thread instead of starting his own so yes, it's a zombie thread

I know that it was another dad asking for help but he should start his own thread otherwise people get confused and reply to the 6 yr old OP.
