I just had my 12 week scan so it looks like this is really happening Shock.

I have 4 DCs, eldest is 14 then 12, 7 and youngest is 5 months.

DC5 is due about 2 weeks before DD3s first birthday. Please tell me I can cope!!!

Also, has anyone got any double pushchair recommendaions?

Youll cope. I have 4 DC the gaps are 19mths, 13 mths, and 35 mths so my oldest was 5 when DC4 arrived.
I love having them so close and DC2 and DC3 are very close and have a special bond that I think is down to the small age gap.
I have had many a double buggy and my favorite was the mothercrae urban detour - not too expensive, big shopping baskets, wide seats and very light to push even with one hand. The downside is it cant fit through a single door but the wheels are quick release and when I rarely had to get through a single Id pop a wheel of a push it through then pop it back on (a lot easier than it sounds).
Personally Id stay away from Phil and Teds - too expensive, heavy and with a small gap neither will want to be in the underneath bit. Id stay away from any one in front of the other style double as I find them heavier and not suitable for a small gap more baby and toddler.
Congratulations Grin

Thanks vicbar. I'm not into spending huge amounts of money on pushchairs so phil and teds are a nono anyway.

I liked the city jogger stroller (or something like that). I definitely want a side by side one as I think the tandems are a bit unfair on the one stuck in the back.

I know I should know what I'm doing by now but I had a 2 year gap between my first DCs and that was hard enough (hence subsequent 6 year gaps). It's been a while since I've had to cope with a baby and a toddler.

I have a brother 13 months younger than me (then another one soon after) and we always fought like mad for my Mums attention. Gah..

I like the citi jogger but the seats arent very big so they get cramped quickly (although mine were all big) and its heavier to push with 2 in than the urban. But I do love the way if folds down.

Thanks I'll have a look at the urban. I have big lanky children so space is something to think about :)

There are only 11 months between my DH and his brother and they're so close.. like twins in many ways..

Congratulations!

Congratulations. I know you don't fancy the Phil & Teds but I have a very old and battered one that you can have if you want it. (BTW, when they were old enough, mine used to fight about who went in the back!!)

Out n About Nipper 360 double pushchair. Huge storage basket under, big storagepockets on both seat backs, massive hood effectively a raincover in itself. alsmo means it's a great sunshade.

Independantly reclining seats, suitable from birth, lockable swivel wheels, VERY lightweight, the centre of gravity is centred on the back axle is why, many doubles do not have this feature.

My most recent babies were seven months apart. I had a little boy in June last year followed by twins born in January this year. The hardest part was physically being pregnant again so soon. My body just hadn't recovered properly and as a result i was dreadfully anaemic and gave birth very prematurely. Make sure you take cae of yourself and get plenty of rest.

I have a 13 month gap between my 2 sons, both blond and blue eyed, have had quite a few people ask if they are twins! I also found being pregnant again so soon very hard, I had an accident where I cracked my pelvis when son 1 was only 2 months, then pregnant again at 5 months. Consequently was in pain most of the pregnancy, lose about a stone in weight, got extremely anemic so make time to take care of yourself :) Can be really hard at first with 2 so young but in the long run I think it is worth it, mine are very close now, will even climb into bed with one another and never get jealous of the other getting attention as they have grown up with it (they are 3 and 2 now). Despite the width I think the urban detour is a really good double, can't fault it really I have only just stopped using it because older son is now at nursery and felt he should start walking more but if you can't afford brand new try ebay - we got ours off there for less than half the normal price :D

OMG duncan!! That's amazing and inspiring.. if you can cope with 3 under 1 then surely I can cope with 2 :o

Thanks for all the advice. My friend just told me she's selling her icandy something double so I might end up buying that.

I was wondering about the physical aspect. I was on crutches for the last 6 weeks or so with SPD last time and have already felt some twinges so am a bit worried.

I worked out that DD3 was 13 weeks old when I conceived. Not ready to go public yet and haven't told the kids! I keep putting it off but I'll have to do it soon I guess.
