what sort of insert to you have?
I don't use a liner on the stay dri ones as they are designed to feel dry against the skin, hence the name, but I have been using a fleece liner on the organic ones as otherwise there is that feeling of wetness against the skin.
You can use a fleece liner or a paper liner on any sort of nappy though.

Have only got the stay dry at the moment but will buy the organic if we get on ok, what u say makes sense about the stay dry I just wanted it to stay all nice and White but when I put my real (instead of 3 week old baby) brain on I remember it is a nappy not a White t shirt!
Thanks for replying

It's not a great time of year for it but if you can get your inserts out on the washing line sunshine really does bleach out the poo stains.
Alternatively you can pop them on the windowsill if you can't get them on the line.
I don't like stains on nappies especially if I'm going out and about and others will see!
Pocket nappies are pretty good though as fleece rarely stains and then no one really sees the inserts.
Most microfibre inserts do seem to end up a grey colour though and the sunshine doesn't make any difference to them but it miraculously bleaches out poo stains!
The Baba Me (European distributors of Bumgenius) said on their Facebook page not long ago that you can use some bleach on the inserts - not to soak them in bleach but you can put a dash of bleach in the machine drawer along with your detergent. You shouldn't use any bleach when washing the wraps though.
I haven't ever tried this though just sharing information!
