What songs do you like to sing to your children?

Me and DS have a bit of a sing song after stories when he is tucked up in bed (he is 2.9). We always always have to start with twinkle twinkle and baa baa black sheep but now I need some inspiration past nursery rhymes!

Songs I like to sing:

morningtown (train whistle blowing, makes a sleepy noise, ...)

my grandfather's clock (lovely rhythym, love the line 'it was bought on the morn of the day that he was born')

we went to the animal fair

victorian music hall types songs, eg My Old Man

DS used to love the Upsy Daisy song when he was an infant.

He also loves
Twinkle Twinkle,
My Favourite Things (from Sound of Music),
Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes
The song from his Fisher Price Animal Train
Wind the Bobbin Up (which I never heard before going to toddler group)
The Peppa Pig songs (Big Balloon and Recycling have been favourites)

I love you
A bushel and a peck
A bushel and a peck
And a hug around the neck
A hug around the neck
And a barrel and a heap
A barrel and a heap
And I'm talking in my sleep
About you, about you
Cos I love you
A bushel and a peck
You bet your pretty neck I do
A doodle oodle do hoo
Doodle oodle oo hoo
Dooodle oodle ooh
Oo hoo.

My 23 month old's favourite song is Bill Withers' 'Lovely Day'.

I was playing Wagner the other day and she said: "I don't like it, I wanna put on Bill Withers"
