Best reusable nappies?

DS due in January and I am starting to get organised. Used disposables for DD but would like to use reusable this time around. I am utterly clueless as to the best brand and what I need to get started etc. Any advice recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I can feel your pain....once you start looking there are so many millions of options that it gets overwhelming.

I have found The Nappy Lady invaluable, if you look her up on Youtube she does demos of everything from ho w to put on different types of nappies, what liners to use and importantly how to wash.

Here is a link to her website where there is a questionnaire that will help you choose the right kind of nappy for
you.

You can also email with any questions and they answer quickly. I asked about washing,

In the end I went for an all-in-one birth to potty nappy as I didn't want to keep having to buy nappies as my baby grew. I went for Bum Genius pocket nappies.

I also got a second hand bundle of nappies, so if you don't mind 2nd hand, look on Ebay, The Used Nappy Site or The Nappy Site.

I am learning as I go along and posting here helps...I've had questions answered. BUt really check out The Nappy Lady...

Good Luck

Motherease or Bumgenius are generally a safe bet. Don't buy 24 nappies before baby born as they might not suit you or the baby. Try out a couple of differnt types (some places have a nappy try out scheme)and then buy more once you have tried and tested. Good luck -it get's addictive Smile.

See a nappy advisor, there's bound to be one local to you, that way you can see the nappies for real and find out the pros and cons of each. They've done all the legwork already and spend a fortune trying out all the different types, so save yourself the bother lol!

Either google for your area or perhaps contact Lollipop Children's Products as they have a nationwide network of self-employed advisors (so you wouldn't be railroaded into only one brand).

If there isn't anyone local, then perhaps contact your council to see if there are any nappuccinos in your area (coffee mornings dedicated to cloth nappy chat) and again you should be able to see the nappies and have a play with them

Good luck, and good on you for choosing to go cloth this time (it took me til my third child to convert, but better late then never!).
