Milk for 14 month old in Turkey?

We're going on holiday for a week to Turkey soon with our 14 month old dd. She has 2 bottles of milk each day and was just wondering whether anyone knows whether we will be able to buy full fat cow's milk from the local shops there, or whether we should take some formula and a travel kettle?
Many thanks x

We have an apartment in Turkey and "fresh" full fat cows milk is hard to find, it is usually long life (due to the summer temperatures and keeping it cold). Full fat long life milk is the most popular anyway so you can buy everywhere. Having said that we did see "fresh" milk this year in the bigger supermarkets. Aptimil(powder not ready made) is readily available everywhere.
What resort are you going to ?. Turkey is a fab country and they love LO's, waiters quite often entertain them for you while you eat.

i would take formula and mix it with bottled evian and take a few cartons of ready made with you for journey there and back (pick up at airport). we looked for aptimal formula when we were in the canaries, they sold it but was about 27 euros a tub!!!! better safe than sorry imho...

Thanks for the speedy reply! That's really helpful. We're going to Icmeler and can't wait :)

we were in turkey over the summer. Had a bugger of a time finding evian water to make DD's bottles up with. In the end we used a Nestle bottled water which seemed to have the lowest sodium content of the waters widely available.

Depending on how you feel about Nestle, you may want to consider it for your little one. Smile

If you are staying in an apartment you can get big water bottles which are pretty low sodium (we used it for three weeks with DD this year and she is OK).
Aptimil formula was 19YTL in June which worked out about £9. You may get a better exchange rate as you are getting towards the end of the season, so not unreasonable, depends how long you are staying.
Icmeler is lovely, you will have a super time. Marmaris is a bit mad but is good for a night out, by Icmeler is a lovely resort. Have fun !

Cool, will we need to boil the bottled water to make up a bottle?

i did, if for no other reason than to get the powder to mix properly. powder never mixes right with cold water.
