DS2 has always been a heavy wetter, but just recently it's got ridiculous. Yesterday his nappies were leaking after just an hour. I use a mix of tots bots bamboozles and terry nappies. We've had to give up on pocket nappies as no matter what I stuffed them with they leaked.

I'm using dispos now which I hate and also give ds2 a slightly sore bum so only want that to be temporary whilst I catch up on the washing. I have tried boosting the nappies, but that seems to make little difference. It's not the wraps that are the problem, the nappies are absolutely saturated after an hour.

I wondered about hemp nappies, maybe buying some hemp material and making some hemp prefolds. Can anybody make any suggestions please.

Minki Huggles are supposed to be very absorbent nappies, they are often recommended as night time nappies for this reason. I've not tried them but might be worth a go? Twinkle do them here - twinkleontheweb.co.uk/acatalog/details-02HUG.html

Also worth a try are the new Itti Bitti Boo they're quite trim fitting, but very absorbent and still will give plenty of room between nappy and wrap to add a booster.

Have you had a try at potty training? If he's weeing a lot in one go, if the nappy is sagging the easiest way out could be down the leg and out particularly if the nappy is boosted inside it can push away at the legs. If you boost between nappy and wrap, this will push the nappy closer giving less chance of him firing down the leg!

The other thing is what does he drink? My daughter went through a very wet phase till I discovered she had a thing about juice (anyone's Blush ) so I simply stopped offering it in the mornings it was milk or water (which she drank if thirsty), and kept a keen eye on other toddlers cups and made sure they were out of reach. Also improved her lunchtime eating (as she wasn't full on juice) and stopped her being grizzly all afternoon (from sugar overload)

Do also look at the wraps and check he is in the appropriate size for his weight and build(they may fit but not be a good fit, hence the leaks rather than containing, and do remember if he's just got very mobile he could have slimmed back down a size?!) even if he is wet they should contain rather more than it sounds.
