thanks to advice from some of you I indulged in a fuzzi recently. God how I love it. Thank you all so much.

Now, I think I am hooked so I want to ask a few questions before ordering a zillion.

I got the second size I think - the one for thighs of 10-13 inches. It is fairly snug on DD, not loose or anything but not over tight either. how does this compare to the next size up? The next size would obviously last me longer so wondering if I should just go straight to that. I plan to buy quite a few for when DD starts in nursery and for faster winter drying too.

I got the wriggley bugs print. What are your favourite coloured bunz?

anyone know where the cheapest online source is?

thanks

no fuzzi lovers tonight?

starlover · 06/09/2005 19:28

do you have medium?
ds is still in medium and he is 20lb. we have some large ones but because it is higher in the rise the top tends to turn over on itself when he is sitting up
i would buy one in the next size up and compare... after all, you will use it eventually

starlover · 06/09/2005 19:29

my fave colours (on ds) are the bright yellow, red, the bright blue, periwinkle

I got a petite toddler as well sorry.

motherpeculiar · 06/09/2005 20:12

so I am the only one with a baby with such whopping thighs then, is that what you are all trying to tell me?

what a totally sensible idea starlover, to buy one in the next size and try it. I'll have to blame sleep deprived mush brain for me not thinking of that myself

I like the periwinkle too from what I have seen

what do you lot find best for stuffing them? I am using a small micro fibre insert at the moment and it is lovely and slim

they really are about as slim as a disposable aren't they? Ah, the wonders of modern textile technology

OP posts:
starlover · 06/09/2005 20:13

also use the microfibre inserts. although i now have to add a booster to take ds's wee! or, we have to use 2 inserts

but for the brief period when we could get away with just one insert they were great! so slim... no needing massive trousers to fit over them

pootlepod · 06/09/2005 20:18

Twinkle on the web have some medium print seconds for £8.

Kittykins is £9.50 with free postage.

Don't know about other sellers- so they might be cheaper.

Caligula · 06/09/2005 20:25

May I give you a tip about Fuzzis and inserts? (This is one I got from Mumsnet!) I use ordinary super absorbent kitchen clothes as boosters, which are about a tenth of the price of official nappy boosters and work just as well and are just as neat. 99p for three in Tesco's!

motherpeculiar · 06/09/2005 20:36

superabsorbent kitchen cloths @ 99p for 3 FAB - and I can always mop the floor with them in between times...

LeahE · 06/09/2005 20:47

I'm sure they are 89 for 3 in our Tesco. Clearly an extra bargain for me! I agree they are great for stuffing fuzzis. DS is also close to busting out of mediums on the thighs although he has room left on the waist poppers. I find Nature Babies new style stuffables have the waist and thigh measurements more in sync for his build than FBs (but FBs are easier to pick up second hand, so I have more of those).

starlover · 06/09/2005 20:49

i found the nature babies stuffables wicked a lot...
i have the blue gingham.. don;t know if it's made of different stuff to the others.

also much wider between the legs

chipmonkey · 07/09/2005 00:44

Hi mp, I stuff with prefolds, Bambino Mio at the moment but am thinking of getting some Jamtots for night. They are thicker than the fuzzi bunz insert but not by much and I find they hold more wee!

LeahE · 07/09/2005 10:16

It's funny, I find the Fuzzis wick worse than the NBs (and I have the blue gingham too). I know different makes suit different builds, but as mp's DD sounds like she has a similar build to my DS I thought it worth mentioning the NBs. I quite like having the extra between the legs (as it were...). I still like Fuzzis though.

chipmonkey · 07/09/2005 11:42

Are those kitchen cloths the white ones with red stitching at the edge?

LeahE · 07/09/2005 14:18

No -- they're white but no coloured stitching. They come in clear plastic packaging, the packet about 6x8 inches, with a white panel on the front. Top right of panel is the blue stripey "TESCO value" logo, then in large pink lowercase letters it says "microfibre cloths", then in small blue lowercase letters it says "reduces the need for sprays or polishes" and then there's a red strip with "3 pack" on it in white.

chipmonkey · 07/09/2005 15:52

Thanks, Leah, will look for them! Hopefully can get them online! Hate shopping with 3 small boys!

LeahE · 07/09/2005 17:21

I can't see them at Tesco.com, unfortunately. Have bought mine in two lightning raids while DS was parked with someone else.

vkone · 07/09/2005 19:59

MP do try hemp as well, I (luckily) got a few 2nd hand and my faves are ella's house, which is v long and thin and can be folded alot before stuffing and happy heiny's stuffin's which are a small oval stuffed into a big one.

The EH ones work great with microfibre and they're good for boosting a night nappy too.

I think Babykind are doing money off if you buy 6 or more and andeeskoolkids.co.uk sometimes do special offers.

xxx Mia

flowerfairy · 07/09/2005 20:54

I got my fb from ragbags I think they were £9 each and I think posting is a £1 free for over £75 (I ordered alot last time so I know that it was free).

I stuff with micro inserts usually 2 of them and ds is rather on the large side so using large size. SOmetimes use a prefold or microfibre cloth, ponden mill had 3 for 2=£1.98 which are very large cloths as well. HTH

motherpeculiar · 07/09/2005 23:38

thanks everyone - will be hotfotting it to tesco (thanks for the description of the packaging LeahE). Will also give help a try and also may invest in one natures baby stuffable too.

thanks you fuzzi lovers

I think the cheapest fuzzis are from babygoeseco, they are £8.50 and 75p for postage. Someone on UKParents bought a few (4 or 5 I think) and paid 75p postage for the lot.
MUMI I think is £9 inc p&P
