First Time Flyers

I am about to take my two year old daughter on Holiday for the first time. I am a little concerned about how she will take the noise, size and general flying experience.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to tackle the issue.
Do I Say nothing to her and let her make her own opinions. If I say to much I am scared I'll make her fear something that otherwise she would just accept. We don't live near an airfield/port so the only planes she has seen have been in the sky and are very small and quiet.
Am I panicking over nothing.

Are there any websites that show a plane taking off I could watch with her

Any advice would be gratefully received

my only advice would be to shut the window. My ds is 3 and was fien on the way out but on the way back he was next t the window, and screamed blue murder! Otherwise he was fine.

Aarrggghhh!!! This could be me! we're flying from Manchester to Southampton tomorrow morning with ds's aged 3 & 1 and it's their first flight. ds1's very sensitive to noise and I'm really nervous... Not sure what to tell him so we're just going with trying to be excited, and we've bought a few little toys which we're going to take out of the day bag as a surprise once we're on the plane.

Good luck - and I'm hoping sweets/chocolates will help aswell...

I just flew 10 hours with an 18month old and was expecting the worst, but it wasn't too bad after all! Pack loads of little toys/crayons/books that she has not seen before. Stickers were really helpful too I found, or just some plasters! I'm a really terrified flyer so I had to control my fear so that it wouldn't rub off on my dd. I found it actually helped with my fear being with her and trying to keep her distracted. Almost like two anxiety-inducing things (my own fear and then my fear of her not coping with the flight) cancelled each other out! Sounds mad, but true! Good luck!

Hide little toys in the seat pockets
Take some re-usable stickers for the table, back of seat, window etc - they come off easily
Make it exciting -tell her to listen out for the undercarriage, wing flaps etc and if at night to see what colour light is on the wing tip
Try to get her to have lots of little drinks of water
Good luck! My main battle is always called "put your seat belt on or the lady will shout"!
