Hi everyone

Any advice welcome, tar x

If I had another baby I'd use the terry nappies for two reasons: (a) they're really cheap in Boots, and (b) you can get them really clean - so many of the reusables have all sort of creases where poo gets trapped.

But I would use the nice motherease style covers, not the old-fashioned plastic type that they sell in Boots along side the terries.

really, ok and they are just as reliable then?, i guess they must work as they were used for me and manuy other babies.

thanks

I used these- admittedly about 10 years ago. They are simple- clean up easy and can be used for many other things later on. BUT they need changing often -disposables soak it all up but a terry will be soaking. I also used the old fashioned plastic pants which were rubbish- nice plastic wraps available now.

You need wider than usual baby clothes as thay have fat (but cute) bums in them. And I don't know if nappy nippas work with them but pins can be a pain with a wriggly baby.

You can buy plastic wrap "pop-ins" which you just fit a folded terry into- I think- no need for pins or special folding methods.

Nappi nippas work fine with terries and are far better than pins.

Folding terries around the baby (as they used to be) is better than using a folded pad terry. More reliable and more comfy for baby.

thanks for all your advice ladies,i have just picked up some second hand motherease nappies and im going to top these up with the normal terries too.

Nappi nippas seems a good option as i dont like the idea of pins!!

I love my terries used with nippas and a selection of pretty wraps. They are a god send at the mo as my washers just broken and they are a lot easier than my other nappies to wash and dry. Dont have any problems with leaks even at night with my heavy wetter.

Bamboo terries are ace, more absorbant than traditional and less bulky.

Great news thanks girls, it's good to mix and match I guess. Where did you buy you nappy covers from?

Thanks again

Ive got a mixture of nature babies, motherease and little lamb. I love them all, nature babies for smaller baies and mother ease for big toddlers. Little lamb is a good all rounder. I bought mine from babybots apart from the motherease i got from cheeks and cherries.

I love terries too, I have friends who gave up on reusables because of leaks, but I have never had this with terries. I think it's because I can fold them to suit DS. They are much cheaper too. I use them with nappy nippas (which are genius invention), Motherease and Popolini wraps, and a mix of flushable and fleece liners. DS is 13 months and has never had nappy rash. They also dry so quickly. I am a terry nappy evangelist!
