over-tired and rooting baby?

Need a second opinion - it]s our 1st day alone as OH is backat work, and baby just spent most of an hour refusing to stay latched, but rooting and furious. Managed to distract her woth pacing, boncing, chair fir broef periods. Alwats started crying again.

Finally I rocked/sang her to sleep. If her dad had been here she'd have had a formula top-up by now (rec. as needed by peadiatrcian but we're trying to avoid) as she kept rooting but rejecting breast.

But now`she's sleeping in my left arm (daren't wake her by moving her!).

So ... could she have been overtored (she'd been awake for a few hours) and rootig for comfort and npt getting it? Or am I low on mil and just sent to sleep a hungry baby? Is the formoer possible?

Yes, overtired. DC3 does this at bedtime if she's not slept enough in the day. I get DH to hold her and she has a sleep on him and wakes up about an hour later calm and ready to feed.

It's possible that you are overtired too! If you get knackered your milk supply will be low so make sure you're getting enough rest and fluids too. When she wakes up I'd give her a feed straight away.
