Does anyone else feel exhausted

I have a 4 year old ds and a 15 month old dd

I am exhausted! I am a sahm at the moment and feel I need to take up a hobby, but I just have no energy!

Is it normal to feel this tired?

Yes!

oh good (not that you are tired but that I am not the only one)

I was at a friends house for dinner last night, she has three kids including a baby and she seems so fresh looking and energetic. She goes out for bike rides for example

I am supposed to be starting yoga on a Tuesday but I am dreading it - every evening I just want to collapse with a film or book (I do have hobbies then but sedentary ones!)

Argh I feel about 60 with my dodgy back and kness fron lifting a 15 month old who isn't walking yet

tis normal! But re your friend, don't forget that exercise gives you energy, so starting yoga could be just what you need to kick-start your energy levels!

Aye, normal.
agree re excercise. works wonders.
get iron levels checked. i was shattered for years, found i was anaemic, take spatone now and big difference!

Well I have 4 dcs (14, 11, 8 and 5) and have just taken up cycling (to and from work). It is good to get properly physically tired, which ids different from the general exhaustion. And the cycling gives me headspace, which helps.

Oh Yes!!! I often fall asleep on the kitchen floor... wont drive most days as would be more dangerous than if drunk, constantly walk into things, stub toes, bash elbows... Think maybe I'll sleep when I'm dead. That could be tomorrow..

shandydrinker · 17/09/2010 14:55

yes. have 8wk old and 3 yr old, am exhausted.

agree with nicky, take iron supplements
yoga is relaxing and you should sleep more deeply that night which will give you more energy the next day.
oh, and I avoid comparing myself with other people, it makes you feel like sh.t

driedapricots · 18/09/2010 19:38

i'm hallucinating i'm so tired (8week ds and 2.8 dd)...

biffandchip · 18/09/2010 20:52

I was for like that for a few years, had a gen health check and my iron levels were seriously low, now that's sorted I am still tired (who wouldn't with 3 ds's) but am no longer exhausted.

Glad I'm not the only one. I finally flipped this afternoon whilst trying to make 6lb of plum jam (windfall find-too good to miss!), sort out my wardrobe for autumn clothes, clean upstairs and supervise 3 fractious boys all at once!
Shouted at everyone, slopped jam all over the kitchen and finally took myself off to bed! Slept the rest of the afternoon with occassional wakings for cups of tea, and to be wrapped in bandages (!)
hope to feel a littlle more human tomorrow. Sad

Glad I am not the only one that feels like this. I only have one child, aged 4 but juggle her, work part time and am just starting an open university course so am always exhausted!!!dont think there is a morning when I feel just as tired on wake up as when I went to bed!!! And that is with me going to bed fairly early!!!

Is important to take time for yourself though although I am the worlds worst for this!!!

Faaamily · 19/09/2010 08:57

I am pretty much permanently exhausted.

I have a 5 yr old and a 2 yr old and am studying full time, but to be honest, the holidays (when I reverted back to being a SAHM) were just as tiring!
