Need to sort out transporting toddler and newborn

I really need to crack this, as I am pretty much stuck at/close to home when DH is at work. I have a 2.11 DS and a 6 week old DD. DS is playing up a lot when we go out, tantrums, not wanting to go home etc. All probably normal toddler with a new sibling behaviour!
I forked out for a Kid Sit for the back of baby's Bugaboo Cameleon pram but he wont sit on it. The bought a second hand Maclaren buggy for DS while DD in a sling. But she hates that!
What is the solution - need something I can strap DS into that will also carry a 6 week old.
I hate those Phil & Ted numbers but find myself looking enviously at them in the park! No money and no space for a new one though.....

Both of mine hated slings, but they were fine in a baby bjorn (do you have a friend's who you can try out?).
Otherwise second hand double on ebay? We moved ours around for a bit it did get in the way....but soooo useful.
Get DS practicing scooting too.
Good luck - there's nothing worse than being stuck in the house.

When you are leaving somewhere, don't say 'it's time to go home' say 'time to go watch tv or have tea or get the trains out' - sometimes this will work.

And try a sticker chart?

I always count down '5 minutes till i'ts time to go' then 2 minutes then sometimes 30 seconds. Of course this works best with children who can't tell the time!

As your DS is nearly 3, do you think he'd go on the back of the Maclaren on a buggy board?

A buggy board doesn't work - I have the kid-sit and he has the attention/novelty span of a gnat so is off it in a second saying carry me mummy! £70 flipping quid it cost me! (I know, I'm a mug...)
Baby bjorn is a bit better than sling I agree, but for longer journeys by bus or tube it is a bit of a mare to negotiate with baby on me.
I have tried bribes and treats and again, novelty has worn off.
A lot of it I am sure is now down to my fear of what might happen if we go further afield, so I stay put.

I have buggy pod which is great as you can fold it up when not needed and only adds little bit of width to a single buggy but you must ensure it is attached correctly or they can be wobbly also I have a strolli which is good but you may need the one with straps shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=m570&_nkw=buggypod

I recently bought the 'hoxton' buggy from mothercare. My youngest 2 are 26 mths and 8 mths so again i just wanted something handy. I already have a double side by side from the older dcs which didnt fit in the car. The hoxton is great it has a flattish pram part at the back for the baby and a stroller type seat at the front. The helpful girl in mothercare actually brought a few out into car park to see which one would fit in back of people carrier. It is so compact and the dimensions are smaller than some single buggies. Highly reccomend this for a baby and toddler. At 2 11 its still nice if they can get a wee nap while out in the buggy.

ebay all the bits you've got and buy a secondhand Phil and Teds. We got ours 4 years ago with all the kit for £150, and it is now being ude for dc3.

I was going to suggest selling the kid sit, sling and maclaren and get a second hand p&t but hazeyjane beat me to it.

They are wonderful.
