Feeling v down - DD 10 months

I've changed my name as I think I can be identified by my usual nickname...
Anyway, I've recently moved house but haven't really settled in my new area - I'm running around keeping extremely busy (mostly going back to old area Blush) but whenever I stop I start feeling really, really down. Can't sleep properly, crying lots etc. I also think all the busy-ness is bad for my DD - she is hardly napping anymore as I'm never at home and so is overtired and unsettled.

Any advice/experiences much appreciated - did anyone else find moving hard with a baby? Or being at home too much difficult? Have considered PND but it seems a bit late for that...

Thanks for the replies. It has been another hard day today - feeling very low and lost.
I did a test on the net (a proper one - the one the HV uses) for PND and got a very high score (22/30). Have discussed it with DH and he agrees I should go to the GP.
I have been feeling like this for a few months now, ever since the move really. I want to move again as I'm not happy here but I also know another move would be exhausting.

Strawberry - when I feel like crying it seems like there is often a small trigger but it's really just when I stop rushing around and get the chance to think... just feel we have made a massive mistake moving here and I want to leave. But don't want to uproot my family again :(

Have you moved far away? When we moved house ds was just turned 1 yr and was expecting ds2 we didnt go far at all but after we moved in i started to think I really didnt like the place, wanted to move somewhere else etc, but now we are settled so much and renewed the contract because we have got used to the place and finding it convenient, and v settled in the area. I would see if you can find any groups or something to go to in your new area, to help you feel settled there rather than always going back to the other place? and maybe a couple of days at home just to settle yourself more in the house? I'm sure it will gradually start to feel more like home where you are now? But probably worth going to GP too as your score came back so high, hopefully they would be able to help. It does sound like getting some activities and groups in your own new area would really help a lot too though

Hi, I moved town when my DD was 15 months. Eventually had a routine of going back to old town once a week to see friends and then making sure we went out somewhere every morning in the new town. Found small group things easier - can you do something like swimming or baby music? I joined a gym with a creche and went swimming once or twice a week. Appreciate these things can be expensive. It does take time but eventually you do make new friends and start to feel settled. Probably seems like an age away but it does get easier once they start pre-school at 2/3. Hope you feel better soon.

Don't label it as depression yet. Moving house is one of the most stressful things ever, especially if you were settled in your old area. Just a thought but going back to your old area might not be helping you as much as you think it is. I did that a lot when I moved here five years ago, and it mostly just made me feel sad and like I didn't belong anywhere. When I started embracing my new home I realised I really liked living somewhere new where nobody knew me! You are lucky to have a baby as you can join baby groups and meet people that way. Hope you feel better soon. Give it some time before considering uprooting yourself again.

Thanks again for the replies. Really helpful. I think perhaps it is just my situation getting me down.
I have decided to stay around here this week and see how it goes, as I agree all the travelling back and forth isn't helping.
So far, not so good. Feel very trapped here (it's a village, I don't drive - I moved from centre of city). DD slept through the group that was on, then it rained (only other option is park). So we've been in all day... will try my best to give it some time before thinking of moving again, but it's hard. I have met some very nice people but it takes a long time to become proper friends.
Keep looking at houses online Blush. It would be crazy to move so soon, I know. Has anyone else ever moved and then regretted it?
