i feel your pain! I can't make any phonecalls because of my 3yr old - it's terrible and very stressful when you have important ones to make.

I've recently started locking my 3yr old in the house and making phone calls in the garden (although he flings himself at the patio doors screaming throughout). It's still stressful but not as noisy.

I have no idea how to solve the problem but wanted you to know you're not alone, I have also lost it with him for same reason.

I'm sure he wet himself cos he just really needed a wee anyway...it's still ok to have an occasional accident when you're 3! You haven't scarred him!

"Can I talk Mummy?, Can I talk Mummy?, Can I talk Mummy?, Can I talk Mummy?, Can I talk Mummy?, Can I talk Mummy?, Can I talk Mummy?, Can I talk Mummy?, Can I talk Mummy?"

About right?

DS is 3.5 wants to talk to everyone - BT, the Doctors, the restaurant, my rather wobbly bi-polar friend!!! Drives me crazy.

Also no idea how to make it stop. Sorry.

He's very little and will forget the shouting in no time. Even the best parents snap sometimes. Try not to beat yourself up about it.

Maybe we should buy toy phones and let them have thier own conversations while we're talking?

was he screaming for attention because he needed the toilet?

i normally go out in the garden, or shut myself upstairs or something if it's an important call

i thought it was like a little alarm for kids. when the phone rings demand the persons attention for the duration of the call. when they hang up wander away and amuse themselves.

This thread's actually manged to extract a giggle. Quite an achievement this evening Grin

DD's just the same, started last week after a gentle run-up. She's a couple of months short of three.

So, I have months and months and months of this to look forward to do I? Great. Hrumph.

I have virtually given up on phone calls when my DC's are in the house too Angry. You're not alone.

No cbeebies or snacks can distract them if I'm on the phone. They follow me, bash on the door, holler etc...

Thanks - this has really made me laugh :)
Have 2 DS and both only want my attention when the phone rings....glad to know it's not only my bonkers (but lovely) kids.
