Second baby mid-PhD - encouraging words?

DD was 14 months when I started my PhD, just turned 2 as I finish my first year and I'm now pregnant with the next one. Very happy and excited but also slightly terrified and fear reaction of others - crazy? Did anyone else manage 2 or more small ones and still complete within, well, a decade or so? In search of reassurance...!

good luck with this, i have an 11 year old ds and dd who is now 9 months... Its hard but if you can be organised and strict with yourself you should be ok! One of the lecturers at uni was telling me she'd had two during her phd and she is well respected in her field! Her two have just finished gcse's and a levels now! I think a supportive dh is essential though.... My dh is slowly getting there but i'm sure he doesnt see it as 'real' work despite being fully funded!

Hi, I haven't completed yet so not exactly an example of a roaring success story but just wanted to let you know you are not alone!
I started PhD part-time in 2005. I also work full-time (although flexibly). I upgraded from MPhil to PhD in December 2006 when 37 weeks pregnant with DD. Took a year mat leave from study. DS was then born in 2009 and took another year's mat leave.

So have 3.8 DD and 1.8 DS, work and part-time study. Luckily I have a VERY flexible job! Grin
