SAHPs, how do you cope when you're ill?

I've got a hellish sore throat and cold, can't talk or swallow, feeling tired and generally rotten. Have a 3yo and 1yo at home all day, what on earth am I going to do with them? Is it alright to have Cbeebies on from now til bedtime?

that's what I did last week when me and 1o wk old DD2 were poorly. DD1 is 2.5 and was bouncing off the walls! Nemo and Happy Feet were on pretty high rotation too. I also got her some magazines from the corner shop, the novelty kept her entertained for a while. And let her play doctors and nurses with her doctors kit!

It sucks but a couple of days of telly won't hurt them. Get well soon!

yes op, make it as easy as possible

Cbeebies. And pajamas, and eating in front of the TV as a big treat for me them. Preferably something like cheese and crackers and raisins for pudding.

Whatever it takes to get through the day.

Agree with the above, lie on the sofa, keep children in the lounge so you can keep an eye on them, if you aren't going out there is no need to dress them (we actually call it a pajama day in our house)

Let them have a "carpet picnic" whatever food they want that it easy to prepare.

Been there done that on many an occasion. I have been sahm for 6 years.

great tips! I am well at the moment but have had many a day struggling with illnesses (I am a sahm too)

Take care MegBusset it is tough but don't feel guilty about the TV and doing nothing, you have to get well and rest.

Oh yes, get the duvet on the sofa, drinks and snacks to hand and leave cbeebies on until you are better Smile
