Received today in the post enrolment day plus an induction day with campus tour library tour module choices and provisional timetable for this coming achademic year! I am really looking forward to it but tbh am quite frightened too! Returning to uni as a mature student-perhap's I'm just to old for this .

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Plus I know it sounds like a cliche, but everyone else will be as nervous as you! I didn't do an access course before I went back to studying, and it had been several years since my A Levels, so I felt particularly nervous around those students who had done access, as I felt that they would simply be 'better' at studying! Ironically, one access student whom I had initially felt appeared particuarly confident later said to me that she actually felt 'inferior', as she felt that I seemed to be doing well and she wasn't. So it turned out that we thought exactly the same about each other!

That's great sallystrawberry - at least you know somebody on the course! I haven't got any tips for the IBS - mine flares up erratically, and Colpermin is pretty good, plus lactolose if you go the other way! I also find that mine gets bad near exams/deadlines, but I've attempted nearly every remedy going!

My mum went to uni when she was about 40 and loved it, she had all these young 18 yr old friends with rich parents, very funny. She was a part time health visitor at the same time - don't know how she managed it!

On of the women on her access course worked for the tabloids and left after one of tutors critisised her for writing like a tabloid journalist (he didn't know!). Poor lass.

Fireflyfairy2 - no I am in Scotland, still nice to know someone else doing the same thing as u said.

Enrolling Monday 19th and CANNOT WAIT! Been waiting 6 years for this!

Have decided on a 'Vintage Chic' t-shirt to wear (as my 21 yr old friend says I am too old!).

Smurfgirl · 01/09/2005 11:31

Oh I am terrified, and I have JUST graduated from the same uni so the only thing new is the course, but still!

I think it will really hit home when I leave work on Monday.
