Used motherease nappies 9 years ago, what's new on the market?

I am expecting dc3 and am keen to use reusable nappies again. I have used the one size motherease in the past, which I found really good, but just wondered what else was on the market now or could be recommended as lots seems to have changed. Any ideas gratefully recieved.

Motherease, espacially their wraps are still very very reliable, nothing has changed there really, other than perhaps the wrap prints which came out in about 2002/2003! The nappy is still available in unchanged form, but they also offer it in bamboo or organic cotton.

However for a fitted nappy I'd suggest the Tots Bots Stretch Bamboozle - the size 2 makes a great non bulky one size napy with plenty of size and absorbency to last to potty training. Tots Bots have stopped making their traditional cotton nappy which was the new thing 9 years ago, but I do have to say their products now are still very reliable, well tested and are made to last.

Nature Babies wraps are worth a mention - very good on containment, and lovely outer prints, slightly different fit and sizing to the Motherease. They also make some nice bamboo nappies the Loveable - bamboo is 'the' new fabric as it stays softer and is more absorbent weight for weight than cotton, but if you want cotton their Diddy Diaper is in 2 sizes and a very good fit, made in UK and an excellent price.

For wool, there's lots of WAHM choice about but still popular are the Disana pull on wool pants, now in organic wool and in a fab range of colours.

Pocket nappies are now very popular. People are prefering one pice to go on, and the speed of druying as these largely have microfibre inserts. Back then Fuzzi Bunz who first to develop pockets were about all that was around - worth considering their one-size one now, as it has adjustable leg elastic - good for scrawny legs. Bumgenius is popular too.

All in Two nappies have come to the fore now (do you remember Snugglenaps? Long gone!). The best seller, and most popular is the Itti Bitti D'Lish - very trim fitting akin to the fit of Chumbas (am sure you won't recall their brief emergence back then?) - with a plush velour outer and removable pads of bamboo/organic cotton absorbency packed away inside. Itti Bitti also make the D'lish as an All in One which is easier to use although more expensive as you can't just change the inner pads (which keep the cost down). Another very popular and newly launched all in one, is the Tots Bots EasyFit V2 (make sure you get V2 as it's much better fabrics - softer, fit, trimness, absorbency than the V1) For very newborns, they make this as a Teenyfit which is excellent for 5lb+ babies - ideal for very small newborns or multiple borth babies too, as it';s incredibly trim, very absorbent yet not bad on drying time.

From 9 years ago you still have a couple of sellers flying the original flag - www.twinkleontheweb.co.uk. www.cuddlebases.co.uk still have original onwers, Morag at www.thenappylady.co.uk has sold to one of her nappy lady advisers, Wendy, and is still there along with hundreds of newer sites! Places like Mumsnet nappy board have replaced the once popular UKP, there are some dedicated sites too. Ebay no longer allow you to sell used nappies, but there is a site www.usednappies.co.uk for the same purpose or sale boards on many parenting sites including here.

Any other oldies still about??!

ebay might not allow you to sell used nappies anymore but there are plenty on there and some bargains to be had!

Thanks for the advice, might have a look at some bamboo nappies as they seem to be the way to go. Certainly won't need the teenyfit as my babies tend to be around the 10lb mark!!

There just seems to be so much choice now, and I love the colours that some of them come in.
