Can anyone suggest flushable wipes without the nasty chemicals?

I'm looking for a good flushable wipe whilst i potty train DD1.

I'm keen to use a brand that don't contain unnecessary chemicals. I used cotton wool and water for many months when DD1 was born, then went on to use Jackson Reece wipes as i found them to be the best on the market that were eco/skin friendly.

So far i've tried Bambino Mio flushable wipes, but found them a bit dry and they also tear really easily. Plus they are very expensive at £1.50 for a pack of 40 wipes!!

Just seen that Earth Friendly 'Kids' are doing a flushable wipe now, has anyone tried them?

Any other suggestions would be of great help.

Thanks all.

I use these, love them and they smell great. I even wash them with the nappies and reuse them!:

And yes they are flushable x

????

I use these Jackson Reece wipes already and agree they are great!

However as far as i know they are not flushable.I've looked on the packaging and can't see it written anywhere.

They have brought out a new flushable wipe but they are only available in a 10 wipe trial pack so far.

I would simply buy a packet of Tots Bots Spunlace liners (these are a soft spun cellulose, biodegradable and flushable) and use with water or your own solution

My sister started making her own homemade wipes using kitchen roll to save money and so she knows exactly what has gone into them.

These should be okay to go down the loo as long as it's only one at a time. I know my sister swears by them after 5 kids! I made a batch for friends using all natural baby oil and wash from Weleda.

Her original recipe (below) is based on the size of Canadian paper towel rolls so I advise UK residents to only use 1 cup of water and reduce the rest of the recipe accordingly. John Lewis do nice airtight canisters that work with this.

1 roll paper towels (Bounty or Kirkland work here, I don't know what you have there, you may have to experiment) this is a good opportunity to sharpen your best knife, I always do mine and then slice the roll down the middle. (non serrated!)

put the roll CUT side down in the container, completely intact

mix:
1 1/2 cups water
1 Tbsp (generous) baby oil
2 Tbsp (scant) non-creamy liquid baby wash (your choice scented/unscented etc.)

pour over the whole roll including the cardboard insert. work the cardboard insert out along with the centre towel. Use from the centre of the roll until gone.

beaming baby flushable wipes are lovely. Not cheap but nice and gentle and organic and no sign of any nappy rash or even redness from birth.

Beaming Baby Wipes are nice, I agree. They smell good, are really gentle and alcohol-free, and I've used them for 4 years as toilet wipes for my older one, and now as nappy wipes for my new baby - and we have a soakaway rather than a "normal" sewerage system, so it's far more sensitive than most houses' systems. No problems.

The manufacturers also donate profits to charity and try to make their products carbon neutral.
