Tooth fairy's going rate?

Sorry, if this is not the right forum - but I couldn't see anything better!

My 6 year old has lost his first tooth (thought it was a bit of rubbish in his bag of crisps and threw it out of the canal boat he was on!) and I was wondering what the going rate is?

in our house it is £2 for the first tooth and £1 for each one after. We only have 2 teeth out of the 5 that have come from dd as she keeps swallowing them or losing them in soft play centres!! We have to write the tooth fairy a letter when we dont have the actual tooth.

ThingOne · 23/08/2010 20:17

£1 per tooth.

I got £5 for my first tooth in 1986.

I would give DD £5 too and then agree £1 per tooth after that.

Thanks guys. We are going to go with £2 for the first one and £1 thereafter.

Its good to know inflations not affected the tooth fairy too much, I got £1 per tooth in the 80s!!!!! (Or not so good for our LOs these days!!!!)

NoahAndTheWhale · 23/08/2010 22:17

£1 per tooth.

Although I was obviously missing out compared to MrsMc82 as I lost my teeth in the 80s and got 10p or possibly 20p per tooth Grin
