What construction toy is good for a toddler with low grip strength?

My DD is 2.3. She loves building things with Duplo Lego. However she gets really frustrated because she can't pull the pieces apart. She has hypermobility which has caused her grip strength to be rather poor. I am happy to help her take the pieces apart, but little miss independent always wants to do it herself. Then she gets so upset when she can't do it.

I think the problem is that lego pieces are smooth on the sides. So I was thinking of getting her some stickle bricks, but wondered if there is anything better.

Thank you, I will look at mega blocks. It is a good idea to try some stuff first. DD goes to nursery, so I will ask them for some ideas.

I love stickle bricks and would happily play with them for hours, but I need to work out what DD will like.
