Basically.....I dont get it lol.

Does anyone use them? How long do they last? Do they get stuff clean? Do your nappies still stink haha?

They are on offer at the monet and was thinking of getting some just for nappies as we are going through powder like its going out of fashion!

I use them. Put 6 shells in and use them about 4 times. They get my stuff as clean as a non bio I reckon. Washing doesn't smell of anything. That's the only thing I miss the smell of fresh washing. But you can put some essential oil in the rinse cycle. I really rate them.

They are fantastic, I do all our washing with them. I do 2-3 loads with the same shells, then chuck the shells on the compost. My nappies are clean, the odd stain just gets sunned out. I think the key is to always do a cold rinse of nappies first.

I use grapefruit oil to scent clothes, and lavender oil for bedsheets.

I switched to them to see if it would benefit my scratchy eczema DP and DS, it has helped - I would rate it as one of the factors involved in clearing up DSs eczema.

I've just started using them and I LOVE them! My clothes are much softer since I started using them, not sure why though? The are definitely perfectly clean and just smell of fresh air as I dry them on the line.

People who use essentials oils, where do you put the oil and when?? I'm guessing in the tray thing? Where do you get the oils, is it a special formulation or just bog standard essential oils?

I put about 3-4 drops in the conditioner compartment, just pure essential oil. I've got a lemon and a lavender one. I like lemon for nappies as it is antibacterial and antiseptic. Lavender is nice for clothes.

My lemon oil came with the soap nuts from here

Hated them, stained white hings but then that is only my opinion.

My nappies dont really smell of anything
either when they come out with non bio but i really do love the smell of fresh washing on bed sheets and clothes. Might give them a try and if i dont like them compost them lol. Thanks everyone for your advice! Il try where you said mumface

Ziggy I chuck a few drops of oil in the conditioner compartment. It's quite subtle, if I want a stronger scent then I tumble dry with a towel that I have put some drops of oil on. My last lot of oils came from a seller on Amazon.

If you don't get on with the soapnuts for washing you can boil them up to make a multi-purpose cleaning liquid peachybums.

peachybums · 13/08/2010 14:39

Oh i might give that a try if not then cheers. I ordered a bag with some lemon oil and i also got a free sample from the official site so ive got lots now, so if i dont like it il be doing loads of cleaning haha Grin
